When breathtaking mountain views are paired with the perfect, private wedding venue fit for weddings of all sizes true magic happens. Which is exactly what you get when booking House Mountain Inn Venue, located right in the core of the Shenandoah Valley in Lexington, Virginia. House Mountain Inn and its sister venue Irvine Estates are located just 15 minutes from historic downtown Lexington, less than an hour from Roanoke’s Regional Airport, and offers true rustic elegance with modern amenities, making it an ideal choice for both intimate gatherings and grand celebrations. As a Virginia Wedding Photographer in this informative blog I am going to dive into all the specifics of this venue and
When booking your wedding venue there is a lot that goes into the decision, but above the amazing food or huge getting ready spaces you always want to consider what your background for the majority of your captured memories will be. While backgrounds are not the most important, here at House Mountain Inn you are going to have perfect backgrounds in every single direction with its almost 360 degree mountain top views! From sun up to sun down you are given that sunny glow and mountain side shade.
More than the views, House Mountain Inn offers multiple event spaces that embrace the natural beauty of the Allegheny Mountains perfect for my outdoor adventurous couples who like a chance to get dressed up and show off a touch of mountainside elegance. Top spots to note for this venue include;
These spaces offer flexibility for weddings of all sizes, from intimate ceremonies to large-scale celebrations with up to 250 guests.
What truly sets House Mountain Inn apart is the opportunity to take care of multiple wedding planning tasks all at once with the venues all-inclusive, exclusive-use model. Different from many local venues in the area, when you book your wedding with House Mountain Inn, the entire estate is yours for the WHOLE weekend. This includes:
The team at House Mountain Inn is known for going above and beyond to make each wedding special. From helping with your timeline to ensuring every detail fits your vision, the staff’s flexibility and professionalism make the planning process stress-free.
As a Virginia wedding photographer who has had the pleasure of photographing at venues across the state, House Mountain Inn is one of my favorite places to capture love stories for adventure loving, mountain dreamers. Here’s why:
For couples who want the chance to truly step away from the hustle and bustle of life this venue provides privacy while still being perfectly accessible! Just 15 minutes from downtown Lexington, you can have guests coming from far and wide with plenty of housing opportunities. You are also able to have ample parking that a city side venue would not offer, but around an hour from the airport for long distance travelers. The drive itself feels like an escape, and the surroundings shift beautifully with the seasons.
The property is bathed in some of the most gorgeous golden light I’ve been able to experience, especially at sunset. From soft shaded areas for portraits to wide-open spaces for ceremony shots, every angle photographs beautifully. It’s also one of the only venues with a covered ceremony space that still provides the same level of view which is undeniably a top selling point for those type A brides who desire the perfect plan rain or shine.
Mentioned earlier in the blog this venue is perfect for any type of day, both rain or shine with multiple covered areas that still have those epic views. The Robert E. Lee Ballroom offers cozy rustic elegance, and the outdoor pavilion is a dream for ceremonies with a view. But the best part is with so much flexibility you have more opportunity to play around with where to do each part of the day with optimal space to separate groups!
While this blog is centered around the amazing day you can have by booking House Mountain Inn. It would be a major disservice to you as a wedding photographer serving this venue to not remind you that while a venue backdrop is a vital part of the day, the rest of the magic does not happen without a top shelf vendor team. You will need help laying out the timeline for the day, delegating who will execute the timeline tasks and where, the wedding day dream look does not happen without the help of a talented HMUA, a florist will be the perfect part of making the venue unique to your personal color palette, catering and your selected dj are what will be controlling the environment of the day, and all the big memories of the day will soon be forgotten without the help of photo and video to freeze those moments to be lived again and again for years to come.
After 250+ weddings here is a list of people I know will not let you down;
So now that you know this is the perfect venue for you and you’re ready to book, let’s take a quick moment for what’s to come. A venue and date will now kickstart the rest of your wedding planning and vendor bookings. There is a lot of different opinions for what it takes to have a good wedding, firstly the goal of the day is for you to celebrate the combining of two lives into one. You can do it on any budget, but on average it is most common to expect to spend between $20,000-$50,000 Here’s a general estimate of what couples might spend for a wedding at House Mountain Inn, based on a 100–150 guest event:
Estimated Total for 100 Guests:
Low End: ~$26,300
High End: ~$54,000+
Keep in mind these are general ranges—House Mountain Inn simplifies much of the cost by offering all-inclusive services that reduce the need for outside rentals, staffing, or travel fees.
